Our Story

Three generations, one kitchen.

Osteria Borghese was opened in 1998 by Giulia and Marco Ferretti, who left Trastevere carrying recipes, a cast iron pan, and a conviction that real Roman cooking had no need of reinvention.

"La cucina vera non si inventa. Si ricorda."
True cooking is not invented. It is remembered. —Giulia Ferretti, 1998

Their daughter, Sofia, now runs the kitchen. The cacio e pepe is still made the same way — no cream, no shortcuts. The menu changes with the seasons. The tables are still difficult to book.
